Getting around is a daily part of life. We all have places to go and people to see. A safe trip is often hoped for. You don’t want to be riding the subway or bus and have an incident. The trains and buses are indeed safe but with a crowded city like New York anything can happen.

How safe are the trains and buses. In my humble opinion, there the same as when i was a child. Growing up in the 80’s New York transit system was notorious for crime, graffiti and other sorts of wrong doing. Now the trains and buses are pretty much the same. People are still evading fare’s and committing crimes. The modern day crimes have changed much since the 80’s.

Trust me the crimes are a annoying. I really can’t stand when try to sell you a swipe on the train. $2 to swipe you in, Oh wow I’m going to save 75 cents. Or the sad drug dealer that tries to sell laced pot to people. There weed is such trash the have boost it by spaying it with chemicals. Then there is the angry commuter that want to start a problem. They are usually some young punk that isn’t winning in life

The crimes are still the same. Maybe it’s the amount of crimes that are happening. After the pandemic crime across the city started to rise. It is a noticeable difference between past and present day conditions, the levels on the subway has risen also. You really can’t expect a smooth transition from lock down to freedom. After being in quarantine for so long people are going to want to do what they want.

New York is made from crime and vice. The transit system is the cardiovascular system of New York. Sometime this city has it good time’s other times it down right aweful. It’s always been this way. To expect not to have an incident once an a while is dumb. There isn’t much the city can do stop the under world they created. My best advice, suck it up and be brave. Now go ride the subway system.
