Poppy, the american singer/songwriter album Zig is just plain awesome. I discovered Poppy while listening to an artist named grimes. She stuck out to me because of dark, twisted lyrics. The subject matter that Poppy covers is deep, and in her album Zig, I got what i was looking for, a deep dive into the mind of Poppy.
The album Zig is beautifully chaotic with heavy industrial sounds. This album of her’s has a deep, rich element of a dark twisted steel mill. It has the presents of the dark side of america’s heartland. Cool and creepy, the dark tones add a moody feel to your ears. The use of steel drums will keep you in beat. Listening to this album will definitely give you edgy aesthetics you may be looking for.
Not only dark and moody but also fun. Poppy offers a sound of pop music to her rebel sound. This isn’t a slow down tempo album. It has energy. These feels will have you sharpening your knife or tapping your toes. It is a nice and fun album if you like murder and manually labor.
Poppy sings of love, in her own little creepy way. So one out there must really love her a lot. She sings of a possible spouse. Poppy’s music isn’t hate driven more homicidal, but she has a touch of love in her songs. With her sound of love and death, we can feel like we have a friend in Poppy.
Poppy’s Zig album is a great listen. It has my head bopping and a smile on my face. I feel cool as sh*t while listening to her. I’m about to go to the store and feel like a star thanks to Poppy and her Zig album.
