There is a saying “You can’t take care of anyone else until you take care of yourself.” I have always found those words to be true. Taking care of yourself is an essential life skill.
At the very basic level of grooming and washing up. Cleaning your body is a basic essential life skill. Keeping yourself clean is the first sign of the ability that you can take care of yourself.

The next sign you can take care of yourself would be the ability to feed yourself. Can you eat, can you muster up an appetite? How is your ability to meal? Can you insure your meals every day?

Shopping is a good sign you can take care of yourself. If you can interact with society with gentleness and righteousness you are a productive member of that society.

How is your relationship with your family? Can you maintain a relationship? If you and your family are on good terms that shows you can maintain harmony and peace within your life. Having a sense of love and joy in your life, especially in your home shows you at your best. Family is essential in showing that you’re not just able to take care of yourself but that you’re taking care of yourself.

Have a source of income, and have some money to maintain you socially. You can’t live without some money. There might be something that you may need to buy. Money is a tool and a resource. But it is nowhere near the most important sign that a person can take care of themselves.

It’s all good, taking care of yourself is cool. Like being self-sufficient and an active member of society is an awesome feeling. Standing tall, walking strong. The last bit of taking care of your is; being able to whoop somebody good. If you know what I mean.

Peace.
