I been wearing glasses since I was a kid. I was born with poor vision. In school I had a problem seeing the blackboard. I need glasses then and I still need glasses now.

Growing up wear glasses was a handful. I had strings on them so they wouldn’t fall off my face. I looked like a total nerd. Seriously, I looked like a geek.

The weird thing is the girls in my class liked the way I looked with my glasses then without. They used to say I look like I am trying to hard without my glasses. Trying to look like a cute blind kid didn’t work well with the kids in my school.

Sometimes, but not often I would get made fun of for wearing glasses. Things like Four Eyes, and Ray Charles were a rare insult. I could see, and being a nerd wasn’t that bad.

In middle school I start to embrace looking like a nerd so I started doing nerdy things like watching anime and read books. The thing is acting like a nerd because I wear glasses made me really smart, even got me action.

I once told a hood chick that I was a nerdy virgin and she fell in love. She automatically equated that I must be rich because all nerds must have money. The truth was I didn’t have much money and I wasn’t a virgin. If I was after telling her I was a nerd I wouldn’t had been one for long.

The problem with glasses is that I always either break or lose them. It seems like every year or two I have to get a new pair. So unfortunately I have to go blind for like a month while I wait to get a new pair.

Not having glasses is different. Yeah, some women might think I am cute but I can’t see what they look like. I try to play it cool but they all looked blurry. Only when I get close can I tell whether they are cute.

Without my glasses watching TV is a pain. I can’t see the screen, I literally have to just listen or sit stupid close. But even if I try my best I can’t make out the actor faces.

Having glasses is cool, I enjoy the gift of sight just that much more wearing my glasses. Being able to see is a necessity and wearing your eyeglasses makes you look smart. Visit your local eyeglasses and get a new pair of glasses today.
