The word was out. Luis would be home for the holidays.

Luis had been in lockdown, since, I don’t know when. Now, he was finally going to be released from the Valhalla Correctional facility. After so many years locked away, he could be home to spend his first holiday season in forever with his friends and family.

The old block couldn’t be happier. Luis was like God in the streets. And after so much time being locked up, he was fiending to return to the old neighborhood he was removed from.

Luis was a bad, bad, man. He sold drugs, got into fights, and he liked to smoke with cigarettes and weed at the same damn time. He wasn’t a good guy, but he was that guy!

Strange enough, Luis did have an unnaturally good side to him. He was the type of guy that would talk you out of doing something stupid. Most of the fights he got into was sticking up for the little guy.

The drug addicts loved Luis because they knew he was risking his freedom and his life to serve them the poison that they craved. They would watch him duck and dodge the police for the drug game. He took the risk to supply them their fix. And now, Luis the Don was finally returning home for the holidays.

While Luis was incarcerated he did all the programs; he had work duties and was known to be a relatively well behaved inmate. He scrapped a little, got into some fights, and was found with contraband more than once.

Considering what the penal system expected from Luis, he tried his best to follow the rules and regulations of the Valhalla penal colony. So, when the warden signed off on his release, he personally told Luis “Go home and be good!”

On the long bus ride back to life on the outside, Luis couldn’t help but think about seeing his baby mama, his own mother, and his goons on the block. They all reached out to Luis while he was lock down in Valhalla. His baby mama even smuggled in bricks to Luis when he asked her to.

The love for Luis was real. Even his goons sported T-shirts that said “Free Luis” with his most favorite selfie for his return. Luis’s mom, the OG of the old block, cried day and night praying to whatever God would listen. She even prayed to Buddha.

When Luis reached the designated release point, his baby mama was there for him, waiting with a blunt to smoke. She explained to Luis while he was gone, how she learned how to drive at a driving school and landed a job.

She had longed dreamed of the day he would finally be released, so they could enjoy making up lost time in the backseat of her ride. They spent hours in the backseat of her Toyota, just you know? Talking about life {giggle, giggle} before she drove off.

Riding down the highway, Luis’s baby mama informed him that things had been slow and boring since he was away. His two kids were doing well. Jeremy and Randy where both doing good in school. Jeremy even made honor roll and Randy took a liking to soccer.

Both of Luis’s kids were super excited to see their old man. The news of his kids doing well overjoyed the formerly incarcerated father to the core of his bones.

Luis’s baby mama had a gift for Luis, which she gave to him at the Quick Check parking lot. It was a cellphone. A new phone was all Luis needed to get back on! He turned on his phone and checked his bitcoin wallet.

While Luis was selling drugs he funneled small amounts of money into bitcoin. Now he wanted to see how well his investment in bitcoin did.

Licking his lips and nodding head happily, he hadn’t done too bad. He had over $25,000 saved in bitcoin. This was going to be a great holiday season for Luis.

Luis immediately went shopping for all of his day one’s; his mama, his kids, his goons, and of course, he took his baby mama and she got whatever she wanted. The money was meant to be spent. And it was spent joyfully, all to celebrate Luis the Don and his triumphant return to the old block.

After hours spent shopping, the couple pulled up to the OG of old block. They had arrived in front of Mamma Love’s house, Luis’s mother. As the Toyota pulled up to the driveway, all of the lights were out.

Concerned, Luis started freaking out,”She knows I coming home today, right?” Nervous, Luis walked up the stairs and rang the doorbell, but there was no answer. He screamed out “MAMA! MAMMA!” still no answer.

Did the opp’s spin on his mother because they knew Luis was being released? His mind began racing, heart beating fast, “The opp’s got my Momma!” Luis cried out mournfully. Luis tried the door knob. The door was unlocked.

Before walking inside Luis thought to himself, “I wish I had my hammer.” As Luis stepped into his momma’s house, there was an earth shattering “BANG!” The lights turned on and the whole neighborhood shouted “SURPRISE! WELCOME HOME LUIS!”

With an overflowing bottle of champagne in her hands, there stood Mamma Love and all of his goons from the old block. Everyone in the neighborhood was there to welcome Luis home from his three year bid. There were blunts, bottles, and his squad were all there waiting for him.

Luis had gifts for them and they had gifts for him. He was home just in time for the holidays.

And for Luis, this holiday season was going to be lit!
