Gosh darn does Jenny love playing online games. That’s all she does; sits at the computer and play mmrpg’s. She has one of the highest ranks, if not the highest. Night and day, Jenny is online playing games.

There’s only one problem, it’s Jenny’s parents. They enjoy the fact that she wins prizes and earns some cash from playing online games. But, they also want their daughter to have a life offline, and not just play online games all the time.

They confronted Jenny one afternoon and told her, “You need a new hobby!”
To her dismay, Jenny was obviously angry about her parents decision for her to find something to do with her time, other then playing online games.
She kicked them out of her room screaming, “YOU DON’T LOVE ME!”
Feeling hurt but determined to get their daughter out of the house, Jenny’s parents waited for another opportunity to confront their gamer child. They plotted possible ways they could get Jenny out of the house.
Jenny walked out of her room. Her mom was standing in the kitchen preparing dinner.
Turning to Jenny, she asked, “Do you think it’s healthy staying inside all day?”
Jenny was still upset about the idea of doing something else besides playing online games. She stayed silent, grabbed some munchies, and walked back to her room.
Jenny decided to call a fellow gamer; Lance. Lance was cool and level headed. He was a good guy and he was great with parents. Lance suggested to Jenny that maybe she should get a job.

She exploded at first but Lance kept his cool. He told her, “Not just any job, but a job at an arcade.”
Jenny’s eyes lit up. Maybe that would work. A job at an arcade would be somewhere she could play games and earn more than just cash prizes.
Jenny’s parents also came to the conclusion that a job would be a good idea for their daughter. Jenny was called down from her room for dinner.
Jenny was the silent type and she had a short temper. She was eating her dinner when her dad said to her, ” You know, you could volunteer at an old folks home three days a week.”
Upset Jenny yelled back, “How ’bout a get a job then!”
Jenny’s parents ears perked up. They both exclaimed how good of an idea that was for her.

Hastily grabbing her plate of food, Jenny rushed to her room. She called Lance, overjoyed that her parents thought a job was a good idea. The pair of friends made a plan to go to the local arcade to see about Jenny getting a job.

They walked in and asked to speak to the manager. Some big overweight guy walked out of the back office, smoking a cigar. He took a look at Jenny and made a slimey grin.
Jenny asked nervously if the arcade was hiring. The manager looked at her explained that all the positions where full.
However, if she really needed a job, there might be something he could do to help her out. The manager’s slimey grin widened a bit. At that point, Lance grabbed Jenny’s arm and pulled her out the arcade.
“What a creep.” Jenny said angrily.
Looking around for other nearby options, Lance noticed that the local video game shop across from the arcade had a sign up. It said ‘Help wanted.’

The duo walked into the video game shop. They mentioned how they saw the sign in the window and that Jenny was interested in a job.
The manager was a kind older gentleman. He looked at Jenny and his eyes lit up.

The manager recognized Jenny from a contest she had won about a year ago. Overjoyed to have an online gaming celebrity work for him, the manager said he would hire Jenny on the spot.
Jenny got a job. She would work at the video game shop three days a week.
Jenny thanked Lance for all of his help and rushed back home. She was excited to tell her mom and dad the good news. When she got home, Jenny’s parents were concerned about the decision.

They explained that they acted too rashly. Jenny’s parents said she didn’t have to leave the house if she didn’t want to. They were just concerned and simply wanted her to get some fresh air now and then, not get a job.
Jenny exploded. She told her parents that she wouldn’t take the job.
Maybe after the holiday season she would try again. Jenny explained how she just wanted to spend the holidays playing games and singing Christmas carols.
