Hello there.

Let’s get one thing straight. I don’t have any love, real or fake, for the city that never sleeps. But, I can’t help but fall for a good deal. A bon marche if you will.

It’s the deli coffee.

Go ahead.

Shudder and cringe at the thought of downing a cup of deli coffee from one of NYC’s finest deli establishments. But if you’re willing to pass up on scooping up a small or large of the local brew for the people, you are missing out. 

And I thought you had FOMO and YOLO as your mantras for life. Sus.

Yes. We already know.

Money Talk, Real Talk

So. Let me guess… You thought coming to the big city meant that everyone was shelling out damn near a day’s wage for some big box, brand name coffee?

Am I right? After all, you can’t be seen in the city just drinking anything, right?

Whether you get your coffee drink made to order by a barista, or ready to go, all dolled up with drop dead gorgeous, over the top, glossy packaging at a local convenience store during your commute. You couldn’t be more wrong.

Chances are, if you were screaming about inflation, or how everything is so damn expensive in the city, you were trying to live that Sex in The City, Real Housewives of NYC lifestyle. 

It’s okay. The city loves it when you finally figure out where to score the deals. Sometimes. But not most of the time.

Where The Coffee At

Sorry, not sorry. Everybody isn’t getting their coffee fix from some exclusive, invite-only, fancy-looking, over priced, wannabe boutique coffee house.

Deli coffee is readily available, affordable, and gives you just enough coffee and caffeine to start your day.

Trust me, when you get tired of picking the roaches out of your coffee maker, or don’t feel like brewing yourself a cup of coffee, you’ll feel more grateful for the local deli coffee.

For The Money

Sure, it’s not the top-of-the-shelf stuff to get you awake and going. But why risk a runny nose, dirty looks, or struggling to keep up an image you can’t afford? Just saying. 

If you haven’t figured it out already. There’s something magical and comforting about waking up to a fresh cigarette and a cup of poop juice to start your day. And, it doesn’t hurt that drinking a cup will help you stay regular. 

Without a cup of that sweet, warming nectar known as ‘light and sweet,’ or some tried-and-true ‘regular,’ or an order of ‘blacker than the city’s heart and soul,’ no sugar, milk, or cream needed, there’d be even more backed up, jilted and deranged people than not in the city.

Be Official

You can’t call yourself official if you keep snubbing the good stuff for some big wig brand name overpriced in a cup or bottle that screams, “Hey look at me, look at me NYC, I’m in the city drinking this stuff…”

You’re not a celebrity. And you’re definitely not a multi-millionaire. Sorry not sorry.

Support your local deli. Don’t be afraid of the deli coffee.
