Do you know what today is? It’s my hairversary. Yes today marks the 4th year of me growing my hair. Well, not exactly today, January, 28th, 2021 is the official day I accredit to the start of me growing my hair. I set my hair start day on the first night of the full wolf moon for symbolic purposes.

Me and my hair has had it’s up’s and down’s over the years, I’m enjoying the experience of growing my hair. I can’t say I have long hair yet, (it’s still pretty short.) Having hair is super cool and i love my hair.

This last year of growing my hair wasn’t without issues. There was an incident with breakage. In the middle of my third year of growing my hair there a considerable amount of breakage. Yeah, a good amount of hair ended up breaking off.

I was put in a situation where a couldn’t properly tend to my hair. It was awful, the heat if summertime mixed with a bad, stressful environment cause my hair to break. Me trying to style it everyday only added to the breakage. It really sucked last summer for my hair.

All of the breakage happened around the crown of my head. When I was rest especially the crown of my head would be flat and matted. Combing and styling a dry, matted crown just gave me a nasty flat patch of hair. Fortunately my hair is making a recovery from the brutal summer months.

Unfortunately I can no longer put my hair in a style deemed cornrows. I just cant catch my hair good enough for that hair style. So I just have to wear my hair as is. usually i put my hair in box braids and keep it covered over the fall and winter months. I am gratefully my hair is growing back in that damaged area.

My hopes for this year of hair growth is to reclaim my lost inches. For my hair to longer, fuller and without damage. I truly love hair and only want the best for my locks. I have really enjoy the positive attention that i receive from people who understand the glory that is woven through my long hair.
