You may think that Wushu or Kung fu are real martial arts. But please you must consider art of boxing among the eastern forms of martial arts. Although Boxing originated in the west, it should be consider as a Martial Art.

Traditional martial arts are self-defense fighting styles like kung-fu, karate and Judo. Most people don’t consider boxing as martial art but it should be. Boxing in many way a fighting style that can have many uses in and out of the ring.

It takes a certain skill level to know how to box. Boxing teaching you all things that traditional martial arts can teach. Discipline that you learn from your boxing instructor is similar to what you would for learn fighting styles like gong-fu or judo.

If you a good enough fighter your hands will be consider a deadly weapon and you will have to get them licensed. That a big responsibility to have hands that are considered deadly weapons. You have to learn an amount of restraint.
Much like Judo or karate you know by learning how to box your are a weapon. The stronger you become, the better fighter you become the kinder you will also become. Fighting is a serious thing to learn and boxing is just as deadly as kung-fu or any other western fighting styles.


Learning how to box isn’t just about going into the ring for a championship. It’s about physical and mental strengthening. Your boxing coach will push you to the limits and get you to better yourself. Boxing will having you improving your health, stamina and mental fortitude.

Boxing is a great to way relieve stress. Much like karate, the practice of boxing can help you get that monkey off your back. Relieve frustration with punch, parry and swing. You shadow box your inner demons and like karate learn to defend your from the bad guys. Anybody that might try you will have to consider that you know how to box, not just that you know some from a karate.
Boxing is also fun. How many times have you practiced karate after watching an action film. Well I feel the same way after watch a boxing match. I want to practice some of the same boxing moves that I see the great fighters do in the ring. Fighting is fighting, what makes the difference is training.

Boxing is a form of martial art. Whether you consider only western fighting styles true martial or are open to considering Boxing a martial art is up to you. But fighting a boxer is just as dangerous as fighting a kung-fu master. Boxing is just as fierce as any other fighting style.
