It’s funny I have been in the spotlight my whole adult life. I was a well-known artist in New York City. I was everywhere in the city. Causing trouble, slinging ink, and being a wild child. When I decided to try and have a family, that is when the public turned heinous, spreading rumors and gossiping about me. They were unbelievably rude and nasty to me and my new family. It had a lasting effect on me and my family. We still will never fully recover from the damage it caused.

When people lie about you, it can really damage your reputation. When people start believing something that you didn’t even say or do, it hurts. It’s the fact that it’s a false truth that gets the damage going. It hurts and is done to hurt. Spreading lies about someone can come back to bite you. Sometimes revenge isn’t a possibility. If you know the person capping you, it’s not worth going to jail. So you might have to just live with it.

Rumors are sad. Google defines rumor as ” a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth.’” When someone is actively making up a story of you, that didn’t even really happen. Then guess what? they’re a loser that needs attention. Like they are playing make-believe with your life. Why? because they don’t have a life of their own. They want to be accepted, so they decide to spread a story that isn’t even true.

When people start gossiping about you, now you know you’re famous. He’s that, she’s this, a bunch of non-sense. Like I have whispered about consistently, I have been called Jesus and the devil in the same hour. Some people have an idea about you and want to share it with everybody. I can’t believe what some people think about me. Here in America, we do have freedom of speech. People can say whatever they want. It’s the gift and the curse. Spreading gossip is just like spreading butter on toast, except it’s not your butter.

There’s not much you can do about their false truths. There is Karma, Some people believe that what you put out, you get back. It is a consistent cycle of giving and return. So one day you might throw a brick at someone, a week later you have a brick thrown right back at you. That’s how karma works. Some people hate Karma, say it’s the devil. I would say Karma is the great avenger. So don’t worry about the haters. Karma’s got this.

People spreading lies and gossip about a person isn’t OK. It hurt that person and is done with the intention for the liar’s own personal pleasure. Don’t get off by telling lies and damaging a persons character. Find other ways to feel good about yourself other than belittling someone by gossiping about them. If not, you might get what you deserve.
