I am a Buddhist, I have been a Buddhist all of my life. I was born into the Buddhist practice. I hopefully will remain a Buddhist in this life and into the next. One of the core practices in Buddhism is meditation. The thing is not only Buddhists meditate. The famous Greek philosophers of Europe also spent most of their time meditating. They spent countless hours meditating on the concepts that would form Western philosophy. Meditation builds most of the civilizations we live into day. How do you meditate? Well from my knowledge there are three basic ways you can meditate. Here’s how, and no you don’t have to be high (^_^)

Laying Meditation is the first way I will teach you how to meditate. All you simply have to do is lay down. Just lay down and relax and ponder and let your mind drift. You can focus on a problem or simply just spend time thinking. In Buddhism, they say to free yourself from your thought. Try to enter a realm of thoughtlessness. You really don’t have to, that sort of stuff is for the pros at the keys of meditation. You just have have lay down and think or don’t think. There is a famous depiction of the Buddha laying down with his head held by his hand and the other at his side. I forgot what this pose is called but it’s something extreme. Just lay down and relax, you don’t have to be the thus come one Buddha to enjoy some meditation time while laying down.

Sitting meditation is the most commonly seen image of a proper way to meditate. Sitting down in various poses to reach enlightenment. You can sit on the floor with your legs crossed or in a chair with your feet on the ground. Sitting keeps you from falling asleep while in the meditation process. You can just have seat and engage in some deep focused meditation. You can play some soft music or have some sound effects. It’s about you and your connection with whatever. You can pray, curse, or dive into your own mind. How and what you do when you mediate is up to you. Just have a seat like your in a waiting room, waiting and there is like eighty people ahead of you. That should give you plenty of time to achieve whatever your goal is for your time meditating.

The last way to meditate is walking meditation. This is nice and one of my favorite ways to meditate. You walk and think, yeah that’s the stuff. Your really won’t get into some deep hardcore meditation. But you don’t have to sit inside either. What I like doing is going for a long walk in the park solo dolo. Just me and the park, I can think about all my issues and reasons while I go for a Nice walk in the park. Some Buddhist monks walk with their hands behind their back, but that is not important. Just get outside or pace in your spot. The thing is to walk while your thinking. It helps if there is something troubling you that you can’t really fix or don’t know how. Just “walk it out” as Soulja Boy would say. You will feel better you did.

Well that a secret, I have studied Buddhism for a long time. Teaching are hard to come by in this day and age. But I wanted to share this with you, my dear readers. I value your readership and want you guys and gals to know what I know. Because sharing is caring and happy meditating.
