What makes food so yummy? Is it just the ingredients or maybe it’s some latent talent that makes food taste so damn good. Well, I consider myself to be a good cook. There is more to cooking than just cooking and know how. You have to love the process of cooking. You have to enjoy cooking, thinking of preparing food as a labor of love. Cooking shouldn’t be a chore or slave labor but a labor of love. Cooking is a necessary life skill that is to be enjoyed rather than dreaded or loathed.

I have been cooking all my life. My mother wouldn’t cook for me often. When she did cook she would complain about having to slave in the kitchen for a hour and usually only thought of herself and the food she wanted to cook. My first meal I remember cooking was toast in a toaster. That night I ate an entire bag of bread with butter. After that i figure I can just forage for myself for food around the house. In my teens I met my first girlfriend and we would cuddle day and night while watching cooking shows on PBS ( Public Broadcasting Station). A love for cooking grew at that moment. We started stealing Food Stamps ( a government food payment system) to buy food to cook. We cooked with love for one another. Concerned about each other health and happiness we would prepare meals that would empower us against our hateful families.

Cooking is important for a person over all health and happiness. When you cook for yourself or others what you ingest is closely linked to your how you feel. There is a saying “you are what you eat.” What you consume is what your made of. If you cook with hate and malice toward yourself or those you have to prepare meals for, it may taste disgusting. When you cook loveless dead food people can tell and it isn’t healthy. When you take pride in your cooking and care about the people you cook for the over all experience of cooking changes. I would watch reels on Facebook of old Spanish women singing and dancing while they are cooking for there family. They cooked with passion and vigor know they are strengthen their loved ones. It seems as if they were calling the powers of the heavens and earth for their family’s health and happiness. Flavorful, delicious meals cooked to express their love for their family members. These meals these woman would prepare gave strength to their household. Cooking with love matters.

Not only do you yourself have to try to cook with love, but anyone preparing your food should have a sense of love when prepare food. You ever order food from a restaurant and instantly make a vow, a pledge and a promise never to eat, order or recommend that certain establishment to anyone walking the earth. Well, they probably make their food with hate in their heart for the very customers that help pay their bills. Here is another saying “don’t eat everybody’s cooking.” Not everybody cook’s with love. Still and all some people know how to cook with love but they have hate to serve only you. While everybody is chowing down, your plate seems loveless and cold. People have ill will toward select individuals and when they cook they make you meal exceptionally disgusting for the fact that they hate you and hope you suffer. So be careful, Not every cook is the same, some hate their job or at least hate you.

I hope I gave you some inspiration on meal prep with love. Love is a powerful thing and can even be added to any and every meal. You can add love just be being the lovely person you are. Cooking with passionate feelings toward yourself and other makes shit happen. So go enjoy some time in the kitchen and cook yourself a lovely meal. You can do it!
