Therapy isn’t a bad thing. A lot of people seek therapy when they have had to deal with a bad situation. Hell, I see a therapist. Anyone who has dealt with trauma should seek some sort of mental health services. The world is a harsh place and most people aren’t equipped with proper knowledge to offer helpful advice. You probably don’t want to dump your problem on an unsuspecting barista at your local Starbucks. If your going threw something serious you might want to seek professional help.

Therapist usually aren’t some money hungry individuals who want to send you to the hospital for kickbacks from the medical industry. They aren’t trying to push pills down your throat for big bucks from big pharm. They are simply nice people who want to help people. They want to school and decided as their major to enter the field of mental health. They are regular men and women who live pretty average lives. It’s just that they choose to help people with their issues and decided to go to school to study how to help people. That education is important, you really don’t need someone with no expertise in mental health telling you about what is going on in your mind. They have training and studied how to help people with their problems.

It’s a good idea to seek therapy if your going or have gone threw something traumatic. It helps to talk out what exactly you’re going through. Friends and family can only do so much. Sometimes your friends and family are the reason why you might need to seek therapy. You really can’t expect your friends and family to give insight into your problems if they are the problem. But, talking to a therapist is a safe, confidential place to talk about any issues you might be having. Your therapist will have your back. When things hit the fan you can rely on your therapist to use your meeting in your defense against a toxic situation. Believe me, that is important when dealing with people who might be conspiring your downfall. Your therapist is in your corner, with evidence that can stand up in court. Just take one-day session at a time. One day you might need them.

Seeking therapy isn’t hard and is covered by most insurance. You just have to be open to the idea of attending a therapy session. It’s not a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing. It’s shows you care about yourself and want to get better. A therapist can point you in the right direction to living your best life. Just google “local mental health service.” There are a good number of places that offer remote therapy sessions. You just need a smartphone to get started on your road to a better life. Be safe and Good luck.
